Do you have an arrest record or conviction in DC that is making it harder for you to get a job or otherwise hindering your future? The District has a procedure by which some people with a criminal record can get their records sealed. If you go through the procedure and the court permits you to seal your records, you are legally entitled to answer “no” on any employment or other application where you are asked if you have a criminal record.

The details of the law are complex, and not everyone is eligible. Talos Law can help you navigate the procedure, and can represent you in a limited or full capacity, depending on your needs and budget. We consider helping those who have collided with the criminal justice system to be a very important for our community, and therefore offer this work for a very low cost. Please contact us for more information.

When you contact us, please include the name of the crime for which you were arrested, when the arrest happened, and let us know what the ultimate outcome of the case was (in other words, let us know if you were convicted, acquitted, nullprosed or posted and forfeited.) If you don’t know, that’s ok, we can help you find out.
